Although I post images on my website of all the car shows we go to, sometimes I send extended coverage to HOT ROD HOT LINE. To visit their website, click on their logo above or to go directly to our images, go to hotrodhotline.com/leal-brothers.

CAR CULTURE 4.png

After two consecutive rain-outs, the CAR CULTURE "LIMITLESS" gathering at the Pearland Town Center (TX) was held without a hitch. The Pearland Town Center is exactly one mile from my driveway. My brother swung by and took the images below. He also covered two more shows all on the same day; average mileage from my driveway to all three shows?.....Three miles!

BARRETT-JACKSON'S FIRST VISIT TO HOUSTON / NRG CENTER / SEPTEMBER 16-18, 2021

BANNER MISCELLANEOUS..png
SCAN0142.jpg

My late younger brother, among other things, was let's say.....NOT SHY! One time we were at my parent's house in the historic Houston Heights District and I saw a custom Mercury down the street at a local car wash. A few minutes later, my brother came in the house and asked me to come outside. Sure enough, there was that same Mercury in front of my parent's house  for  me  to  take  pictures  of.  I  of

SCAN0143.jpg

course thanked him and here are the pictures. I recently found a lot of my old 35mm prints in the garage and scanned them including these two.

Just starting searching through totes in the garage for "loose" 35mm negatives and slides. Have come across quite a few 35mm prints that have turned out pretty good after scanning them; above are three of those scans. The left image was taken at Houston Raceway Park which will be closing its doors for good early next year; after 35 years of service. The center image was taken at Red River Raceway in LA. Not sure where the right image was taken.

ZZ37.jpg

On the left is an image of one of the largest "MEGA CHURCHES" in the country; Lakewood Church in Houston. The image on the right was taken inside the church! Actually when the right photo was taken, Lakewood was still the Summit, a sports (Houston Rockets) and concert arena. In 1998, it became the Compaq  Center.  Lakewood  Church

ZZ38.jpg

signed a long term lease (30 years) in 2003 and paid in advance ($11.8 million) and spent $100 million in renovations. The city agreed to sell the property outright to Lakewood Church in 2010 for $17.5 million. Besides the Tractor Pull on the right, I remember seeing ZZ Top perform there and the Lakers (w/Shaq) visit the Houston Rockets.

I mentioned on my last update that Houston Raceway Park in nearby Baytown will cease operations after the 2022 NHRA event in March. Since then its been all over the internet and even our local news channels. Although I've posted the Ronnie Sox Image on the right before, the above images have never been posted and if you check out the background, they were all taken at a Mopar event at Houston Raceway Park. Sox passed away in 2006.

They say that "Copying Is The Best Form Of Flattery" and I have to admit, it does feel good. Whenever I post some of my old images on the above (and other) Facebook Groups, they get "likes", they get "comments" and since they're older images, they sometimes get "shared" with individuals and/or other Groups. The above images are their FACEBOOK PROFILE PICTURES which that change every so often. I couldn't believe when I recently checked the "T-BUCKETS ONLY" Group Page above and they changed their Profile Picture to the T-Bucket image on the right; that's right, its my image that I posted on the Group Page a little over a month ago. Again; it is "the Best Form of Flattery".

Below are images I've posted recently on several Facebook Groups and as you can see, I've been pretty busy. I'm still looking in the garage (totes) for more 35mm negatives and slides and ran across some 35mm prints and scanned a few of them.

I joined the "Gasser" Group because I happen to like "Gassers", strip or street. Recently they've posted quite a few "Pro Street" vehicles for sale which I actually like just as much as street "Gassers". Below are a handful of those "Pro Street" vehicles that were posted pretty much at the same time. Now just letting you know that both Chevelles and the '41 Willys are from Orlando. COINCIDENCE?
