Two events coming soon; real soon; to the Houston area. The Niftee 50ees 17th Annual MONSTER Classic Cruise In 2020 will be held at its regular weekly Saturday Night location up in The Woodlands (left) this coming weekend. The weekend after (Oct 31), the HALLOWEEN HAVOC Monster Truck Wars (above) will hold two shows at the Lonestar Expo Arena up in Conroe.

Just became aware of another major automotive event coming to Texas this month; October 30 - November 1 to be exact. The high-speed TEXAS MILE is coming to Chase Field Industrial Airport & Complex just outside Beeville, Texas. The one-mile straight run is open to motorcycles, performance street cars, race cars and land speed racers. Due to the Pandemic, the event was rescheduled from March. The event began in Goliad in 2003, ran in Beeville from 2011 - 2016 and then moved to Victoria in 2017. Local news outlets are labeling it "the return to Beeville". Beeville is located 187 miles southwest of Houston and 105 miles southeast of San Antonio.

I've said it many, many times before.....I LOVE PRO STREET VEHICLES! There's nothing like a car with huge tires and huge engines to get your attention. Its a plus if the owners add wild, custom paint jobs like the two posted here. Both of these classic Pro Street vehicles were at the 2018 Street Machine Nationals in DuQuoin, Illinois. Our 2018 "ROAD TRIP" included four stops with the Hot Rod Power Tour, two days at the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green (KY) and a day in DuQuoin. We spent 2019 in Ocean City, Maryland and 2020 is well; self explanatory.

Ever since the lockdown, I've been keeping busy by checking out (and cleaning) some of my diecast vehicles. I have a handful of SPEED FREAKS and the Anglia Gasser posted here was my first. I love CARtoon drawings and the real thing is that much better.

I was checking the internet and came across a CARtoon drawing of the General Lee Charger (above, left) which of course, reminded me of my CARtoon diecast of the same vehicle. I also bought (many years ago) the black Charger from the "Fast and the Furious" and the Torino from the Starsky and Hutch TV show. One I didn't purchase was the "Smokey and the Bandit" black Trans Am. I recently saw a cartoon figure of Burt Reynolds dressed like in the movie and I figured it would be a nice display (together). I went on Ebay to look for it. I saw only one available and was priced over $200 and shipped from overseas. I'll keep looking!

Right before the above Charger was scheduled to be released, their was concern that it would have to be released WITHOUT the Confederate Flag on the roof. As you can see it was and I'm glad.....it just wouldn't be the same thing without it!

When l was growing up, already "into" cars, I wished I could draw race car caricatures. Unfortunately, it never worked out. As I grew older, I started seeing computer generated vehicles (above) on the internet and have seen some outrageous creations over the last few years. But again, I'm in the dark. At least drawing was just that; drawing; I understood the concept. This stuff is a complete mystery to me. So I guess I'll just sit back and enjoy the talent that many have; especially those that are automotive inspired. THANK YOU.

Took my recently posted Munster Koach and installed GMP 1/18 scale Gasser Wheels and Tires. Fronts are a little tall but okay for now!

PANDEMIC SANTA (1).jpg
PANDEMIC SANTA (2).jpg

Seen a few pandemic inspired Christmas ornaments lately and this one is easily my favorite!

First off, I mentioned my CARtoon General Lee earlier. Above left, are the two other vehicles I also have. Well after I posted it, I went and checked Ebay and found four Bandit Trans Ams (above) for sale with the most expensive over $200. I found another selling for $75 plus $25 shipping. I finally found one for $60 ("Buy It Now") and only $10 shipping. He had sold one before and only had one left. Now I own it! I then went to Amazon and bought the Burt Reynolds figure above for less than $12. I'm hoping they look good displayed together. Damn I hope I never grow up!
